Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is performed to tighten the skin of the thighs, with the goal being to produce slimmer, more contoured thighs that look proportionate to the rest of the body. A thigh lift may be performed alone, or in combination with other cosmetic procedures, such as liposuction. Candidates for a thigh lift are in good general health, but have excess skin and/or tissue on their thighs as a result of aging, pregnancy or significant weight loss.

Thigh Lift
Procedure

The thigh lift procedure involves incisions in the groin creases to remove excess fat and skin from the upper thighs. The extent of the incision depends on each individual’s problem areas.

There are two types of thigh lift procedures: The inner thigh lift is commonly performed as a single procedure. An outer thigh lift can be performed alone or with a tummy tuck, which is called an extended tummy tuck.

After surgery, a compression garment is worn to minimize swelling and promote healing.

Recovery

Patients go home the same day, and bed rest is recommended. Most patients prefer to take off about a week.

Risks

In addition to the risks associated with surgery and anesthesia, those related to thigh lift should be discussed with your surgeon.

Results

A thigh lift will eliminate excess skin, and tighten and firm the skin contour, creating beautiful, long sculpted legs.
