What Is JUVEDERM® Ultra XC?

Are there any side effects?
JUVEDERM® Ultra XC is safe, but as with every procedure, there are some side effects. You may experience a bit of swelling after the treatment that can be alleviated by applying ice to the face for the first few days after the injection. Other side effects may include bruising, discoloration, redness, tenderness and itching.
When is it not a good idea to receive JUVEDERM® Ultra XC?
Prior to treatment, your doctor will ask about your medical history to ensure that you are a candidate for JUVEDERM® Ultra XC. Patients who should not have the procedure are those with severe allergies related to a history of anaphylaxis or severe allergies to lidocaine.
How many treatments will I need?
Most patients need one initial treatment in order to smooth their wrinkles. To maintain the best results, you may elect to have touch-up or repeat injections periodically. Talk with your doctor about when this could be right for you.
How long do the results last?
The results last approximately 9 months to one year.
