The Truth About Velashape™

VelaShape® is a non-invasive new medical procedure that effectively reduces cellulite and helps re-contour the body with very little downtime or discomfort. The Velashape treatment can be used to provide your body with a smoother, regular appearance on areas including the buttocks, hips, thighs, abdomen and upper arms.

HOW DOES THE PROCEDURE WORK?

The Velashape™ treatment uses two different applicators – VSmooth and VContour – to zero in on both large and small areas. Using a combination of radio frequency waves, a laser and suctioning massage the Velashape™ device targets the intended area and suctions and lifts tissues. This procedure promotes deep heating of fat cells. When this heat combines with the suctioning, it stimulates new and improved collagen and elastin and reduces fat cell volume. The result is an overall enhancement in skin texture and structure. For optimal results, patients generally undergo three treatment sessions. Each session lasts between 30 to 40 minutes.

WHAT DOES VELASHAPE™ TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

Patients largely describe the Velashape™ procedure as comfortable, with many experiencing a warm sensation that is akin to a deep-tissue massage. This warmth may stay with you for a few hours after your session. The treated area may also have some bruising or swelling which will also subside over a few hours. Your skin may also look pink at the treated area for a short while.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR VELASHAPE™?

The Velashape™ procedure is effective on all skin types and colors, but it is not considered a weight loss tool. The ideal candidate for VelaShape should have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of less than 30. Your doctor will perform a physical exam and evaluation to help determine if Velashape™ treatments are right for you.
