Tummy Tuck:
For A Flatter Trimmer Long Island Lifestyle

Happy Woman

Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is the surgical removal of excess skin and fat deposits and the repositioning of abdominal muscles to create a tighter flatter stomach. At our Long Island cosmetic surgery facility we correct the vertical separation of abdominal muscles - or diastases. It is very common for active Long Island women to look into getting a tummy tuck after being pregnant, or after experiencing multiple pregnancies.

Reasons to Consider Abdominoplasty:

Excessive accumulation of skin following weight loss.
Loss of skin elasticity and diastases (loose abdomen muscles) resulting from pregnancy.
The removal of unsightly skin and fat deposits and realignment of the abdominal muscles to create a flat trim look.

Tummy Tuck Procedure

The average tummy suck performed at our Long Island plastic surgery facility and takes less than two hours depending on the patient's physiology. An incision is made just below the bikini line; excess skin is separated from the muscle tissue and removed. The abdomen muscle tissue is then tightened to complete the tummy tuck procedure, and create a firm contoured stomach and better-defined waistline.

Preparation & Post Operative Care For A Tummy Tuck Operation

All patients experience a degree of anxiety prior to surgery, it’s only natural. The most important preparation you can do is to ask any question, of anyone, at any time. Knowledge and confidence go hand-in-hand.

Before surgery, you will be provided detailed information on how to prepare. Specific to procedure and patient, the doctor’s advice helps your body get ready for change. It is very important to follow your prep-regimen; it’s the foundation to a successful outcome.
Post Operative Care and Recovery
During recuperation, some swelling, pain, and discomfort are normal and pain medication is usually prescribed to bring relief.  Light activities can generally be resumed within two weeks.
